一份新報告呼籲農食產業主要參與單位，採取緊急行動應對氣候變化，投資技術層面，並支持現行解決方案以協助小型農場，報告獲得亞洲農食系統的主要參與者支持。該報告稱，有關行動有助於2030年前減少12%溫室氣體排放量。​

第三份亞洲糧食挑戰報告於新加坡國際食農週公布，報告以《亞洲農食價值鏈脫碳》為題，由戰略諮詢公司普華永道、荷蘭合作銀行Rabobank、新加坡投資基金公司淡馬錫及碳數據公司Terrascope聯合出版。

​糧食系統變革必須在應對氣候危機一事中發揮關鍵作用。與食農系統相關的溫室氣體排放佔全球總量三分之一，僅次於能源產業；而亞洲則佔全球農食系統排放量約42%。

該報告聚焦亞洲地區實現減碳的機遇，強調改善糧食安全和可持續性的重要性。亞洲作為全球最大的洲份，區內各國開始著手減少其對氣候的影響尤其重要。該報告列明一些參與單位可以採取的行動，例如利用更高效潔淨的技術、支持環保的務農方法，以及20種可以即時實行的時下技術和做法。這都有助於在2030年將排放量減少12%，相當於2022年全球航空業的排放量。

New report calls for climate action from Asia’s agri-food sector

Backed by major players in Asia’s agri-food system, a new report calls for urgent climate action from industry stakeholders to invest in tech and back existing solutions to help small-scale farms. The report says that doing so could reduce emissions by 12% by 2030.

Launched at Singapore’s International Agri-Food Week, the third edition of the Asia Food Challenge Report is titled ‘Decarbonising the Agri-Food Value Chain in Asia’ and jointly published by strategic consultancy PwC, Dutch agri-food bank Rabobank, Singapore investment fund Temasek and carbon data firm Terrascope. ​

Food system change must play an essential role in the fight against the climate crisis. Agri-food systems account for one-third of all global greenhouse gas emissions, second only to the energy sector. The Asian continent is responsible for about 42% of all global agri-food emissions.

The report highlights the opportunity for decarbonisation across Asia, stressing the importance of improving food security and sustainability. As the world’s largest continent, it’s crucial that Asian countries begin to mitigate their climate impact. Helpfully, the report outlines steps that stakeholders could take, such as embracing cleaner, more efficient technologies and supporting eco-friendly agricultural methods, as well as 20 extant technologies and practices that can be implemented straight away. This could help reduce emissions by 12% by 2030 – an amount equal to the emissions from the entire global aviation industry in 2022.
